An Emerald Airlines flight had to try landing at Dublin Airport twice because of strong winds from Storm Ashley. The plane was coming from Birmingham but had to go to Belfast City Airport instead. Aviation experts said the winds were too strong for a safe landing. The airport authority confirmed the diversion was because of the bad weather.

As Storm Ashley approaches, Met Eireann has issued warnings for strong winds. A yellow wind warning will start on Sunday morning and last until midnight. This could cause coastal flooding, fallen trees, and difficult travel conditions. Galway and Mayo have an orange wind warning starting at noon on Sunday. There could be damage to buildings and dangerous sea conditions.

Aer Lingus has not commented on the situation yet. Stay updated on the latest news by visiting the Belfast Live homepage and signing up for their newsletter. Make sure to stay safe during Storm Ashley and follow any advice given by authorities.
