Nadine Coyle was on the Late Late Show on Friday night, talking about touring without her friend Sarah Harding. Patrick Kielty was hosting the show, which was the last one of the series. Sarah, who was part of Girls Aloud with Nadine, passed away from cancer in September 2021 at the age of 39. Last year, Nadine, Cheryl, Nicola Roberts, and Kimberley Walsh went on a tour in the UK and Ireland to honor Sarah’s memory.
During the show, Patrick and Nadine joked about her famous passport mishap before diving into the topic of performing with the band again. Nadine described the experience as “brilliant” but also mentioned the challenges of getting older. She recalled the fear of performing on flying platforms and trying to remember physics from school to avoid falling off. As she has gotten older, she admitted to being more cautious and preferring to stay closer to the ground.
Performing without Sarah was tough for Nadine, especially during rehearsals when she wasn’t there. Sarah’s presence was deeply missed as she was a significant part of Girls Aloud’s performances. Nadine and the rest of the band kept Sarah’s parts in the show to honor her memory, but it was difficult not having her there physically. The grieving process was shared with fans and band members alike, but the absence of Sarah was felt every night on stage.
Aside from Nadine’s emotional reflections, the final episode of the series also featured Tom Brady, Joe Duffy, and Eurovision representative EMMY. The show was a mix of emotions and interviews, closing out the season on a memorable note.
