Northern Ireland’s own TV legend, Gloria Hunniford, has been announced as a new judge for this year’s celebrity edition of The Great British Bake Off. Channel 4 has officially confirmed the star-studded line-up for the upcoming season, set to premiere in the Spring, although an exact release date has yet to be disclosed. The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up To Cancer will feature a group of well-known personalities competing against each other to claim the coveted title of Star Baker.
Star-Studded Line-Up
Among the celebrities participating in this year’s Bake Off competition are a diverse array of talents, including podcaster Sarah Beeny, comedian Adam Buxton, and Good Morning Britain presenter Kate Garraway. Notable names such as Journalist and Chicken Shop Date host Amelia Dimoldenberg, sibling TV presenters Scarlette and Stuart Douglas, model and author Ellie Goldstein, and actor Jim Howick will also be showcasing their baking skills in the iconic tent.
The esteemed judging panel, typically comprised of Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood, will see a change this season. In a surprising twist, Prue Leith will be absent from the special edition, making way for Caroline Waldegrave OBE to step in as a guest judge alongside Paul Hollywood. Caroline, a longtime friend of Prue and former co-owner and managing director of Leiths School of Food and Wine, brings a wealth of culinary expertise to the table as she critiques the celebrities’ creations with Paul.
